KATHMANDU, Gagan Thapa has urged outgoing party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka to play a guiding, guardian-like role as the Nepali Congress moves forward.

Speaking ahead of the Central Working Committee meeting, Thapa called on party leaders to set aside differences and unite following the Election Commission of Nepal’s recognition of the second special general convention.

He said the leadership election process has concluded and all members should now accept the Commission’s decision and work together to strengthen the party.
